After PC RPG fans was rather presented with Demonicon a moderate DSA game that had to do with the actual DSA graphical appearance rather less, full-bodied was advertised as Black Guards next game of the DSA series on the market.
The battles are turn-based, such as the pen and paper format. An attempt DSA is to be applied as Startegiespiel wrong and brings some fun.

Many long for still looking for the excellent DSA Drakensang games. Was not at that time been well managed with really projected on the PC screens a lot of effort and loving the DSA universe. It followed, formulated polite, rather less exciting or successful implementations, until finally now Deadalic "Black Guards" announced and threw them on the market. Over the previous DSA point and click adventure game of the same development studio liked it nor be divided. In Black Guards there were RPG-fare of the finest, now settled in the DSA universe and with original (the pen and paper) modeled turn-based combat system.
This was emphasized that one time not assume the role of a supposedly "good" heroes, but to prove his innocence in the role of a criminal or villain who is accompanied by other criminals. Equal first, the latter is more of a myth. In the game you actually play do not really villains, but people to whom a "checkered past" is attributed, but in the game itself little in common with the character traits described on the pack.
At the beginning you are using an animated (and poorly synchronized) short film in the adventure performed. Right at the beginning, however, provides a tart (with me) disappointment.
Did you look further now an open, like in Drakensang, beautifully animated environment field / region with villages, towns, etc. are desired, hoped in vain. The trips run by point and click on a region map. The only moments where you get to see the hero himself, the fights. Furthermore, the graphical appearance of the fighting is nice formulated "ok" ..... it could also have been made worse. The weapons fall teiweise dysproportional (eg, the long sword a bit too short) and the characters look a bit static. It follows after the first fight then the main quest, which is then accompanied by various side quests ..... of course always end with fights. Here are short video in video clips, which act in turn poorly dubbed and rather carelessly, the constant companion to the main quest.
The character sheets give the game the DSA touch. Unfortunately, far too little for an RPG

If this description is a bit static act or not exact, I have to add that I've made a lot of thought to the description of the game. Unfortunately, what has been described above is actually the way how the game runs. Another penalty is the fact that the fighting part (although played at the lightest level) are heavy and require many repetitions, because saving between battles is not possible. Example, it is so that in the quest "the nine hordes" each 3 times after another (without possibility of saving) must be obtained, which is quite geschmalzen and va is time consuming. However, at the latest after the 4th Repeat the desire for the whole reduced significantly.
The DSA Touch gets the game by Charkterbögen or property sheets, but also serving here rather the form of the game, because the game itself. As a special treat, there was still an "update" for all the "bugs" that owns the original game unfortunately. Almost funny it is that Windows 8 users after the game at the start completely crashed and not playable. Be that as it may. Unfortunately, Black Guards is rather below average RPG, which indeed would have a lot of potential, but was poorly implemented. Especially the missing environment can quickly Tristesse wishing the whole.
